Talk about sweet, here is a simple maple sugar cookie recipe that brings the comfort of maple goodness to any holiday celebration.
Ingredients
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup pure maple granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup + 1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup (a very dark/strong flavor like ours is preferred)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
Process
Cream butter and maple sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla extract and egg. Mix well.
Add Sapwood maple syrup and mix well.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add flour mixture to butter mixture while stirring, just until blended.
Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In batches, drop spoonfuls of cookie batter onto cookie sheet, about 1” balls.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges.
Place cookies on a rack to cool.
